First market test for Turkish Stream in Bulgaria flops

The first phase of the market test for the Bulgarian pipeline from Turkey to Serbia ended without success, according to a report by Bulgarian radio. The reported quantities of gas for transit through this pipeline, which will be an extension of the Turkish Stream, were found to be inadequate, as data from the Bulgartransgaz website show.

According to the Mediapool news agency, only four companies – Russian Gazprom and its two subsidiaries – and Bulgaria’s Bulgartransgaz – took part in the test. A second phase of the pipeline test is expected to decrease and the agreement term to increase from 15 to 20 years.
