The International Defence Exhibition and Conference IDEX 2019, which took place in Abu Dhabi from 17 until 21 of February has concluded. The Hellenic Defense Industry participated with a national pavilion, under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense (General Directorate for Defense Investments and Armaments), in the frame of the political extroversion promoted by the Hellenic MoND.
The pavilion hosted the companies Barracuda, EFA Ventures, Hellenic Aerospace Industry (HAI), Hellenic Defence Systems (HDS), Intracom Defense Electronics (IDE) and ISI Hellas.
During the exhibition, the Minister of National Defence Mr. Evangelos Apostolakis had the opportunity to meet with his counterparts from other countries and discuss issues of common interest and synergies.
The Director General of the General Directorate for Defense Investments and Armaments (GDDIA) Vice Admiral (ret) Kyriakos Kyriakidis also met Deputies/Assistants Ministers of other states, as well as staff officers of respective agencies, discussing the capabilities and the role of the Hellenic Defence Industry.
Hellenic companies Double Defence Action, EODH SA, Medals GR, Miltech Hellas, Theon Sensors and NAMFI, also participated with their own stands, supported by GDDIA when needed.
On 21 of February, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE’s Armed Forces, his H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited the Hellenic Pavilion, where he was informed about the Hellenic Defence Industry by the Director General of GDDIA Vice Admiral (ret) Kyriakos Kyriakidis.
Hellenic companies judged their participation, on the whole, particularly, since apart from contracts signed during the exhibition, prospects were cultivated for further cooperation in the near future.
