Erdogan’s “gift” to Putin: Six UCAVs for Ukraine

The UCAV Bayraktar TB2 purchased from Turkey was delivered to Ukraine, said President of Ukraine Petro Porosenko.

“Now I can already reveal that tests are underway on the new unmanned Bayraktar attack aircraft, the deliveries of which were agreed with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. These systems are already in Ukraine,” TASS said quoting the words of Poroshenko from a speech at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

The purchase of six drones from Turkey became known in January 2019. In addition to the UCAVs, Ukraine received three ground-based control stations and ammunition under the contract.

The President of Ukraine claimed that the new technology would allow “the destruction of vehicles, armored forces, and fortifications, as well as naval targets”.
