USAF deploys B-52H strategic bombers to UK

B-52H Stratofortress strategic bombers were deployed to Britain by the US Air Force according to the US Air Force Command in Europe.

The aircraft landed at Britain’s Fairford Air Base and came from Barksdale Air Base in Louisiana where the 2nd Bomber Wing is stationed.

The US bombers will fly, for as long as they remain in Europe, from the RAF base at Fairford and will co-train with the NATO allied forces.

The aim of deploying strategic bombers to Europe is to train crews on missions in Europe and so the aircraft can co-operate with the ground and air forces of NATO countries in Europe.
