Turkish artillery shells Christian homes in Kani Masi, Iraq

Two artillery shells landed in Kani Masi town centre, causing material damage, the mayor stated.

The shells struck at midday, Mayor Sarbast Sabri Akraye confirmed to the press, blaming Turkey.

Three houses were damaged, one of them severely, Akraye added. The three homes all belonged to Christians.

There was nobody at home when the houses were hit and there were no injuries, the official stated.

Kani Masi is located in the Amedi region of Duhok province, near the border with Turkey.
