Hellenic Navy intervenes after another Turkish provocation

With an order from the Defense Minister Evangelos Apostolakis, the Navy General Staff intervened towards NATO’s Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM-Navy Command, based in Northwood in northwest London).

As a result, an underwater photograph “depicting divers with a Turkish flag and allegedly taken during the NATO-drill” ARIADNI-19 ” was removed from the admin’s account of MARCOM, according to a statement from the ministry.

At the same time, the Greek authorities made relevant demarches at the Alliance level, according to an announcement from the Hellenic MoD.

The NATO-Multinational – Mine Warfare-Nationwide Exercise is an “INVITEX” type exercise organized by the Hellenic Navy on an annual basis and this year it takes place north of Crete.
