Russia launches another Kilo-class sub

The first of the second batch of  Improved Kilo (Project 636.3) submarines of the Russian Navy was launched at the Admiralty Shipyards of St. Petersburg.

This is the B-274 Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky submarine which will be delivered to the Pacific Ocean Fleet in 2020. Submarine construction began in July 2017.

The same day that the B-274 Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky was launched was also the day the construction of the second vessel, which will be named B-603 Volkhov was announced, while the other two will be named Magadan and Ufa and are also destined for the Pacific Ocean Fleet.
