Turkey moves more troops to Syrian border

Units of the Turkish Army are directed to the Syrian border to strengthen troops in the southern provinces bordering Syria. The military convoy has already arrived in Hatay Province.

The move concerns tanks and experienced personnel of the Turkish armed forces.

According to Yeni Safak, Turkey is strengthening its military presence on the border with Syria, following statements by Turkish President Erdogan that Ankara will soon launch a cross-border military operation against YPG armed Kurdish groups in northern Syria.

Since 2016, Turkey has successfully carried out two similar military operations in northern Syria.
