Israel hit by 90 rockets from Gaza

About 90 rockets were launched toward south and central Israel Saturday morning and dozens were intercepted, the Israeli military said, saying that it struck in Gaza in response, a day after four Palestinians in Gaza were killed and two Israeli soldiers were wounded.

The Gaza Health Ministry reported a 22-year-old man, Imad Nassir, was killed by the Israeli strikes and four others were injured.

The military said its air force attacked two rocket launchers in the northern Gaza Strip and a tank struck a Hamas post east of Khan Yunis after rockets were launced at multiple Israeli towns, including Ashkelon, Ashdod as well as central Israeli towns near Modi’in and Rehovot, while residents reported hearing blasts.

A rocket hit a house in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council, no injuries were reported. Another rocket landed in the Israeli community of Nirim and another landed on Highway 4 near Ashkelon, as the city announced it was opening its bomb shelters.
