The Turkish army’s clashes with PKK fighters continue in Turkish Kurdistan as well as in Iraq, with significant losses almost every week.
More specifically seven Turkish soldiers were killed in the last three days in these areas during clashes with the PKK. These losses should be added to the eight Turkish troops killed in May on different fronts against the PKK.
Essentially, in May, the Turkish Army lost 15 military personnel in total to fighting the PKK and its allies.
These deaths have caused a shock to Turkish society, which almost weekly watches the funerals of its soldiers who are battling the Kurdish organization. It is worth noting that 5,000 citizens attended the funeral of soldier Halallik, while 1,500 citizens attended another soldier’s funerals.
