The Spanish Army is about to acquire 1,797 training rounds from the Israeli company IMI for its Leopard 2E Battle Tanks.
The contract with IMI will be signed in June and the cost of the project will reach € 3.57 million, including VAT. Deliveries will be completed by the end of the year. According to “Infodefensa,” General Dynamics Santa Barbara Sistemas and Rheinmetall also showed interest in the program, but IMI’s offer was considered more affordable. Spain has an active fleet of 216 Leopard 2Es, of which six are deployed in a NATO operation in Latvia.
