Albanian unit RENEA chooses EnGarde body armor

For the third time, EnGarde has been chosen by Albania to supply RENEA, their elite anti-terrorist team, with advanced tactical gear.

The Department of Neutralization of Armed Elements commonly known as RENEA, is the primary Albanian counter-terrorist and critical incident response unit. Formed in the 1990s in response to rising crime levels after the fall of communism, RENEA primary responsibilities are armed rescue, hostage rescue, counter-terrorism, and violent crime response.

The unit was implicated in the alleged murder of ethnic Greek minority member Konstantinos Katsifas, and has been accused of being used by the present government as a “heavy hand” against political opponents..
