The Ambassador of the State of Palestine delivers letters from President Mahmoud Abbas to the President of the Hellenic Republic and the Prime Minister

The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Greece, Marwan Toubassi, delivered today an urgent message from President Mahmoud Abbas to the President of the Hellenic Republic and Prime Minister Mitsotakis.

In his letters, President Mahmoud Abbas stressed that the announcement of the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu yesterday, stating his intention to annex the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea and all settlements, as part of implementing his agenda of ethnic cleansing if he is the winner of the upcoming elections, is a serious violation of International Law, a complete breach of all signed agreements and will destroy any remaining opportunities for peace.

President Mahmoud Abbas asserted in his letters that if Netanyahu carried out this threat, it would be “our right and full responsibility to take all necessary steps to prevent such a dangerous move and continued aggression, regardless of the consequences incurred by the occupation government and its Prime Minister”.

Ambassador Toubassi stated that he conveyed the letters of President Mahmoud Abbas to his Greek counterpart and the Prime Minister requesting the immediate condemnation of such dangerous and illegal statements from Israel while urging them to take all necessary measures and urgent actions to prevent their implementation and emphasized on the need to hold Israel accountable and fully responsible for all its continuing violations of International Law and the imperatives of Peace.
