Eight people died and two were injured when a soldier opened fire on fellow soldiers at a military base in the Russian Far East’s Zambaysk region, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. According to the ministry, the perpetrator has been detained. The lives of the injured are not in danger.
“On October 25, at about 06:20 local time, when the guard changed, a soldier from a technical base in the Zabaikalski area opened fire on fellow soldiers from the firearm service. As a result, eight people were killed and two others injured. Ministry of Defense investigators under Deputy Defense Minister Colonel Andrei Kartapolov are already on their way to the camp where the bloody incident took place.
