LNA spox: Turkey is transporting Nusra Front jihadists to Libya

The Libyan National Army (LNA) spokesman Ahmed Al-Mesmari said on Sunday that Turkey is transferring elements of the Al-Nusra Front from Syria to Libya at a high rate.

Al-Mesmari said in a press conference that “the number of militants that Turkey seeks to transfer from Syria to Libya has reached 8,000.”

Al-Mesmari described Erdogan’s recent statements as “considered a breach of the ceasefire and a provocation for the Libyan Arab Armed Forces,” and stressed that “Libya will not be a springboard or a base for terrorism.”

Al-Mesmari also mentioned in his speech the military operations carried out by the army, on Sunday in the Abu Gurayn area, indicating that it is not considered a breach of the ceasefire.

Al-Mesmari said: “Our operations in the Abu Gurayn area are preemptive operations and a message to the militias.”

This comes at a time when the Libyan National Army, led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, announced its control of the village of Qudahiyah, southwest of Al-Wushaka, and is continuing its progress towards Misrata
