New Greek armed forces chief’s meets UAE counterpart

The Chief of Staff of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces Lieutenant General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi was the first foreign counterpart to be met by the new Chief of Staff of the Hellenic Armed Forces, General Costas Floros, at his office.

The visit, of course, had been planned for a long time and had been designated “through the military (diplomatic) route”, but coincided with the change in the leadership of the armed forces, which took place a few days ago.

In substance, the two Heads discussed security issues of mutual interest, and the focus of their talks has been on issues related to the prospects of enhancing bilateral military co-operation, in particular joint exercises, training, exchanges of personnel and military information etc.
