Hellenic Petroleum, Hercules Group contribute to the fight against coronavirus

Hellenic Petroleum, one of Greece’s largest refiners and traders of petroleum products, on Thursday announced an 8-mln-euro donation towards the strengthening of the national health system against the coronavirus pandemic. The funds concern the purchase of medical equipment and supplies, as well as the donation of heating and motor fuels during the coronavirus crisis.

The equipment includes, among other things, molecular diagnostics systems imported from the United States that will double the number of tests performed daily in tracking down SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes the Covid-19 disease.

Also on Thursday, the Heracles Group of Lafarge-Holcim, a leading company in the Greek construction materials market, announced the donation of medical supplies and an Isolation Box to the General Hospital of Volos, in central Greece, fully equipped with medical instruments capable of receiving and evaluating suspect Covid-19 cases without endangering others at the hospital.
