First PATRIOT long-range air-defence system delivered to Romania Armed Forces

Romania has officialy received the first Patriot surface-to-air missile system during a reception ceremony in September 17, at the National Training Center for Air Defense “Brigadier General Ion Bungescu” at Capu Midia, Constanța County.

The main equipment of the Patriot long-range surface-to-air missile system to be operatiuonally exploited by the Romanian Air Force began arriving in Romania in August. they were transported to the National Training Center for Air Defense “Brigadier General Ion Bungescu”, where acceptance testing was carried out.

By equipping Patriot long-range surface-to-air missile systems, the Romanian Armed Forces will increase their defensive and deterrent capacity, ensuring a better defense of the national airspace, which is an integral part of the NATO airspace.
